About our Sports Programme
Our Sports Programme provides New Zealand sportspeople opportunities to grow more knowledgeable, connected and confident with Asia.
The Foundation's sports programme leverages the appeal of sport to forge cultural connections through the language of sport. Sport serves as a powerful medium for cultural exchange, providing a common ground where people from diverse backgrounds can interact, share experiences, and build mutual understanding.
New Zealand athletes and coaches have the opportunity to immerse themselves in new environments, learn about local customs, traditions, and values, and bring these experiences back to their communities. This exchange enriches both the individuals involved and their wider social circles, promoting a more Asia aware society.
The following opportunities are available:
Sports Leaders Fund
The Foundation's Sports Knowledge Exchange is a fund for New Zealand sports sector representatives to establish connections and develop relationships with their counterparts in Asia.
Sports Connector Programme
