Sport Singapore internship

The Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Whītau Tūhono, in collaboration with Sport Singapore, is delighted to offer an exciting internship opportunity for two young New Zealanders in 2025.

The internship is open to third and fourth-year undergraduate students or recent graduates pursuing a degree in sports, sports science, sports management, coaching, or related fields.

The two interns will spend three months (May through to July 2025) with Sport Singapore. This will include time with the Organising Team for the 2025 World Aquatic Championships. 

The programme is designed to deepen the interns understanding of the people, place and culture of their Asian host country, while developing industry-specific skills to support their career growth.

Opunake students receive kai, koha and kindness on Japan visit

From a small, coastal Taranaki town to the hussle and bussle of Tokyo, the contrast couldn't have been greater for the 41 students of Opunake High School (OHS) who toured Japan recently to play sports and learn about Japanese society and culture. Kaipara College rugby teams' Japan adventure "expands horizons"

Competing in Tokyo and Kyoto, two teams from Kaipara College immersed themselves in the local culture, making connections on and off the field. As well as playing rugby, the teams—a boys' and girls' team— visited temples, had a go at sumo wrestling and tried their hand at taiko drumming.
