Leon Tan is an Auckland-based art and media historian who is currently one of three participants in the IFA-KHOJ 2011curatorial residency in New Delhi.
Leon's work involves remixing the KHOJ library and archives, and engaging with local and international audiences to produce an exhibition. He is experimenting in new media, performance and socially engaged curatorial practice.
Leon’s blog features not only Indian art and media projects, but also material relating to augmented/mixed reality, science-art initiatives, and curatorial and art theory.
The residency aims to establish a model of practice-based training for curators. It is an attempt at developing a training ground for emerging curators who will engage with various modes of artistic practice as well as be actively involved in critical writing.
The programme is part of the four-year Curatorship Programme by India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) in collaboration with select institutions across the country.
