The Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Whītau Tūhono invites applications from New Zealand’s broad sports ecosystem to join a delegation travelling to Singapore and Malaysia in April 2025.

Are you a leader, innovator, or changemaker in New Zealand’s sports ecosystem? Do you have a passion for learning and engaging with Asia’s dynamic sporting landscape? 

This delegation will travel to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to engage with key sports entities, national programme leaders, and influential figures shaping sport in their region.  

These will include:

Opunake students receive kai, koha and kindness on Japan visit

From a small, coastal Taranaki town to the hussle and bussle of Tokyo, the contrast couldn't have been greater for the 41 students of Opunake High School (OHS) who toured Japan recently to play sports and learn about Japanese society and culture. Kaipara College rugby teams' Japan adventure "expands horizons"

Competing in Tokyo and Kyoto, two teams from Kaipara College immersed themselves in the local culture, making connections on and off the field. As well as playing rugby, the teams—a boys' and girls' team— visited temples, had a go at sumo wrestling and tried their hand at taiko drumming.
