Dr Victor K Fung

Asia Honorary Adviser, Hong Kong



Dr Victor K Fung is chairman of Fung Investments, the Fung Family’s private investment arm.

Dr Fung is also chairman of the advisory board of the Asia Global Institute at the University of Hong Kong, a multi-disciplinary think-tank contributing to international discourse on global issues from Asian perspectives. Dr Fung is currently a member of Hong Kong Chief Executive’s Council of Advisers.  

Dr Fung is:

  • a former member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference

  • an adviser of the Infrastructure Financing Facilitation Office of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority

  • a member of the Economic Development Commission of the Hong Kong Government

  • chairman of the steering committee on the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council

  • a Hong Kong representative on the APEC Business Advisory Council

  • chairman of the Airport Authority Hong Kong

  • chairman of the Council of The University of Hong Kong

  • chairman of the Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council.

In addition, he served as chairman of the Paris-based International Chamber of Commerce from 2008 to 2010.  

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Dr. Fung holds bachelor and master degrees in electrical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Doctorate in Business Economics from Harvard University. He was a professor at Harvard Business School for four years before returning to Hong Kong in 1976.
