Latayvia Tualasea Tautai
Latayvia Tualasea Tautai is a second-generation Aotearoa-born Samoan and a dedicated advocate for under-served communities.
Latayvia describes herself as an amalgamation of her ancestors' wildest dreams, prayers, and sacrifices.
Recognised for her contributions with the 2022 Prime Minister's Pacific Youth Award for Leadership and Inspiration, Latayvia's work spans governance, advisory groups and grassroots activism serving our communities in correctional facilities, the unhoused, and those interacting with the welfare system. This heart work has taken her to the NZ High Commission in Singapore, the United Nations in New York and across Aotearoa.
Having faced homelessness and poverty during her childhood, Latayvia's life's work is dedicated to giving back.
Recently, she served as the Manager for Collective Action and Engagement at Y Tāmaki Makaurau, where she led, evolved, and delivered the Y25 Leadership Programme.
Latayvia is the Schools Programme Manager at World Vision for the Lower North Island.
