Jessica George



Jessica George is a Kiwi-Indian filmmaker from Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai (Lower Hutt). She works in production at Wētā Workshop’s Design Studio.

Jessica is dedicated to dynamic storytelling and is passionate about amplifying stories from the Asian diaspora.

She holds a Master of Fine Arts (Creative Practice) in film production. Notably, she produced the Tokelauan documentary ‘VAKA’ (2019), which premiered at the United Nations’ annual climate change conference COP25, and ‘The Lascar’ (2023), which was an official selection at Whānau Mārama (New Zealand International Film Festival) 2024.

Jessica’s leadership experience lies in producing where she champions knowledge-sharing and kotahitanga. Through the Network, she looks forward to forging meaningful relationships and deepening her cross-cultural understanding of Asia’s growing media landscape.
